Our Guru Rinpoche statues depict the Tantric master who is also known as Padmasambhava. Padmasambhava was born in the land of the lotus which is a pure land known as Oddiyana. Padmasambhava translates literally as “lotus born.” Each Padmasambhava statue for sale represents the father of Tantric Buddhism. Tantric beliefs were introduced to Tibet when Guru Rinpoche traveled there in the 8th century A.C.E. He is believed to be the second Buddha in the Himalayan states of India, Bhutan, Tibet and Nepal. These Guru Rinpoche statues were handmade by our craftsman in Patan, Nepal. They are sculpted using the traditional lost wax method which results in a statue of intricate quality and detail.
