Offering Torma

Tibetan Offering Torma

The traditional torma offering is shaped from food and placed on the altar to appease the Tibetan Buddhist deity. Torma offerings are often made for the wrathful Tibetan Buddhist deities such as Mahakala and Shri Devi. However, they are also commonly offered to the altars of Tara and Avalokiteshvara. Additionally, the torma can be used as a weapon during Tantric ceremonies. They are commonly depicted in Thangka paintings and can also be hand crafted from metals. Our selection of offering tormas were hand crafted from metals in Patan, Nepal using traditional methods. They feature fine hand engravings and semiprecious stones such as turquoise and coral.
