The Meaning of a Green Tara Statue

The Bodhisattva Tara was born from teardrops that fell from the eyes of Avalokitesvara. Since Avalokitesvara is known as the “Bodhisattva of Compassion” we are assured that Green Tara is imbued with immense compassion. As a result, she is always poised to come to the assistance of devotees. Additionally, she encourages all sentient life to be free of their dogmatic ways and embrace wisdom as the path to enlightenment.
