Ceramic Multi-Color Guanyin Statue Features
The willow branch held in the right hand of Guanyin is used to grant wishes and cure illnesses of her devotees. Additionally, her vase sits on the palm of the left hand resting in her lap. This vase also has special properties because it is filled with a special elixir used to relieve the suffering of sentient beings. Indeed, Guanyin is known as the “Goddess of Mercy” in East Asia. Additionally, in China her name translates as “one who hears the cries of the world”.
Please note that our ceramic multi-color Guanyin statue is seated on a pink lotus pedestal. The pink lotus is very significant in Buddhist belief. This is because the lotus begins it’s life as a seed planted into the muddy bottom of a pond. The lotus then grows through the murky water and blossoms in the clean air and sunshine above the surface. As a result, it is believed to symbolize a devoted Buddhist practitioner who rises above the proverbial sea of suffering to obtain enlightenment. Additionally, the color pink is affiliated with the original Buddha.
