Description

Our set of seven 3″ Tibetan offering bowls features an antiquated finish and 24k gold detailing. In addition, the fine hand engravings were completed with exceptional detail. All of our ritual items are hand crafted by the artisans of Patan, Nepal. Indeed, the artisans of Patan have been the preferred source of the Tibetan monasteries for many centuries. As a result, when you purchase our Tibetan offering bowls you can rest assured you have procured a monastic quality item.

Traditionally, there are seven offering substances: water for drinking, water for bathing, flowers, incense, light, perfume, and food. However, water is often substituted because it is visualized as pure nectar by the Buddhas. Additionally, water is plentiful in Tibet and devotees are encouraged to be generous with their time and possessions just as they would give away water.

To properly perform the offering you simply fill the bowls in the morning and place them on your Buddhist altar. In the evening when you return, empty the bowl and if necessary dry it with a cloth. As a result of the offering, devotees will bring the blessings of the Buddhas into their home. Additionally, the offering ritual will alleviate greed and increase your generosity.
